Last Night's Movie: Bram Stocker's Dracula ★

This film is one of my favorite, not only because the story fascinates me, but also because it's a highly creative film both visually and in it's adaptation. It was directed by the brilliant Francis Ford Coppola and adapted around the novel, wich is written entirely in letters and journal entries. The story transitions so well in a range of simple visual tricks that make it truly artistic and visually remarkable. It tells the tale of the vampyre Dracula, who was once a King and renounced God when his wife committed suicide. His quest, although scary and blood drenched, is very romantic in a way as he searches for her reincarnation...

I got to see Dario Argento's Dracula 3D when I was in Cannes and oh my... there is no comparison possible! Major cheese fest ;)

    1. He he! It totally IS romantic, that's what makes the character acceptable to the audience I think, it's his human side...

      I love this movie!
