I've recently rediscovered my love for biking. And I feel really strongly that I need to blog about it because it's probably the beginning on something big in my life (I'm in love!). I probably hadn't done it in 10 years, which sounds kind of crazy. But now that I'm back on the saddle, I'm pretty obsessed! In the summer I always feel like I want to spend as much time outside as possible and biking is definitely a great way to enjoy the sun and nature. Plus it's totally freeing, kinda feels like flying.
I don't always bike in a dress, but in the country on a romantic bike ride with my beau, it totally made sense! My Ked's shoes are perfect for riding too, although I think I need a hat with a smaller rim...
It made me realize as adults we don't get new hobbies everyday, and I feel really glad I got to re discovered this.
What's your favorite hobby?

How wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThis year The Boy and I started to take Dance lesson that the local Eagles CLub offered. New Life-Long passion, I think! We both adore it and can get out on the floor for about four (sort of five) different kinds of dances. Its been really interesting finding where people go to dance etc. A lot of older people do it (a dying pastime? Hopefully not), but they are so encouraging.
That sounds like SO much fun! I've been trying to convince my husband to take dance lessons for ages but somehow I don't think I'll ever be able to convince him. I think we should all know how to dance a little better, such a classic form of entertainment :)

I LOVE bike riding! Yay for you! I am getting married in two months and my fiance and I decided to start working out. At first, I HATED it, but now it feels so good to be active again! And I also love your striped dress and floppy hat--too cute!
ReplyDeleteYour lucky to have a working out partner though! I do it alone and sometimes I truly wished I had someone to old me accountable so I wouldn't laze out!
DeleteYay for the wedding being almost around the corner, SO exciting!

I rediscovered biking 5 years ago because my friend in Barcelona had a bike and it seemed like a good way to get around. And now I really, really can't remember life before it, and I get frustrated when I don't have a bike handy (at my parents for example). It's a fantastic way of getting around. Definitely feels like flying!
ReplyDeleteI'm not into sports all that much (although I was in a swimming team during the better part of my childhood), but about a year and a half ago, I discovered I love making clothes :) I've kind of tried out a bit of everything in the creative field (calligraphy, analog photography - including developing them myself -, felting, playing the piano,... You name it, I've done it!), but this is the only hobby that actually keeps me hooked!
ReplyDeleteyour dress is wonderful :) where is it from?
ReplyDeleteI love paddling whether it's in a canoe or a kayak. Especially on the ocean. It's exhilarating to distance yourself from society for weeks using your own physical strength and camping on beaches.
ReplyDeleteI love biking as well but never manage to look as classy as you.

How fun for you to rediscover a bibby! I love having hobbies, some of mine include reading, watching/discussing movies, baking, volunteering for nonprofits, and drawing. I'm a little embarrassed to say I never learned how to ride a bike...but am definitely committed to learning one day because it does look like a very fun hobby.
ReplyDeleteI want to start volunteering too this Summer, I feel like I have so much to give!
DeleteYou are inspiring me to go forward with it :)

It's from Forever 21 about a year ago. I don't encourage shopping there because I know the clothes aren't made in the best conditions, but I did get this dress there.

My trick to ride comfortably wearing a dress or a skirt is to wear short leggings under!
ReplyDeleteHave a good ride!
Your words describe my feelings EXACTLY! I bought my bike last year and fell in love with biking and my bike. So much so that I have personified it and given it a name- Liza! We get along famously and go on many adventures together. I love your hat- you look great on a bike!
