Because Halloween brings out the little kid in me and I LOVE Halloween movies, I asked one of the coolest mother I know to share movie suggestions with us that are kid friendly but please adults too! Thanks so much Ashley and Hudson for sharing some of your favorites with us, we love you!
Hello lovelies! I'm Ashley, the blogger behind Hudson's Happenings....my happy little corner of the internet, where I share my musings on photography, love, fashion, and life! I'm so ecstatic to be guesting on Virginie's beautiful blog today, and I'm talking about two of my most favorite things: Halloween and Movies!
It's easy to find a list of the best horror flicks to watch for Halloween, but for those of us who scare easily, or have little ones, it can be hard to find something to watch that will invoke the Halloween spirit, without simultaneously inducing nightmares. Here are my top five suggestions of the best Halloween movies for kids...that will be fun for grownups to enjoy, too.
These five films are perfect if you want to introduce your kiddos to a feast of fabulous Halloween flicks...so pull out the candy corn and get ready for a movie marathon!
A big thanks to the beautiful Virginie for letting me guest post! Hope to see you all again on my blog!
Happy Halloween!
p.s. I would LOVE to hear your favorite family-friendly spooky movie....so share your ideas in the comments!
Be sure to follow Ashley and Hudson's adventures on Hudson's Happenings everyone! See you later today with a new outfit post.

This post makes me want to watch Hocus Pocus NOW and reminds me how I had a crush as a young teenager on Devon Sawa, aka the blond babe in Casper :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Ashley!!
LOvE Ashley!! :D she is the coolest mom, you're right. Love these choices. My favorite kiddo Halloween movie is Disney's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I love it! And still watch it to this day (weird??). It's narrated by Bing Crosby who is my favorite. :)
ReplyDeleteDisney's Sleepy Hollow is one of my very favorites too!! I love how in Disney movies nature is always a character too, in this one the little dry leaves seem to be part of the scary mood.
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm going bananas for kids movies!!
Yes! I love The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, too! Such a great movie! We just ordered the DVD for Hudson this year!
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me do this super fun post, Virginie!!! I love love love Halloween movies! :)
xo
Oh, I just love love love her choices! This makes like Halloween a little bit more :)
ReplyDeleteOMGOSH! I love The Witches!!! I remember watching it when I was little. Hocus Pocus is also a great oldie but goodie. xx-Jackie
ReplyDeleteGreat movies! And they aren't just for kids! ;)
ReplyDeleteCouldn't have picked a better list myself! The good thing about Nightmare before Christmas is you can watch it for both holidays!
ReplyDeleteI know right? Not completely Christmas, not completely Halloween but completely awesome!!
ReplyDeleteOk, this post is making me over excited :)
these are perfect! :)
ReplyDeleteI love Ashley!
ReplyDeleteHocus Pocus is SUCH a great movie, I watched it last week after carving pumpkins. I forgot all about Casper, though! Don't know how I did since I used to be OBSESSED with it - mainly because of Devon Sawa. :)
Ashley has a great blog. I think it is because she shows so much love for her family in it. Everyone loves Ashley....
ReplyDeleteI've seen almost all of these! Hocus Pocus is really fun, and The Great Pumpin is a classic, we watch it every year.
ReplyDeleteI definitely want to see Witches, I'll check it out on Amazon. Thank you! My daughters (and I) really enjoy a good fantasy book/movie :-)
Seriously, all of these terrified me as a child. I was a delicate flower, what can i say!
ReplyDeletethe only one I liked as a child at all was Charlie Brown. The rest freaked me out or I just wasn't interested. witches and stuff just are not my thing at all though. I think your list is made up very nicely though!!!! ^_^
ReplyDeleteP.S. gotta say I didn't even watch Casper when it came out (I was 11 when it did), I only saw it for the first time this year. I wouldn't want my boys watching it though. THey'd get scared but they LOVE the old casper cartoons!!!
ReplyDeleteI was really scared too at the time! I think it must be different for every child.
ReplyDeleteI also watched Beetlejuice last night and it was SO good, a little scary but mostly goofy and sweet, I think it would be good for older kids too.
I love Hocus Pocus! I was totally OBSESSED with that movie as a kid.
ReplyDeleteNightmare Before Christmas was one of my all-time favorite movies. It still might be, it's tied with Wayne's World - both remind me of my dad :)
