Life Lately // Early Winter ★

Below zero temperatures
First real snow fall
Christmas decorations at my father's farm (he takes his Holiday decorating very seriously!)
Inspiration for dramatic Holiday party make-up
A house party video shoot, now that warms me up
Vintage Dior fur jacket or the score of a life time
Curly hair and sequin tops, over and over!

Because here in Québec, Winter sure likes to start early... and get us in the Holiday mood!

But we wouldn't have it any other way ;)

Snow Cape ★

This week-end, we had the very first snow fall of the season. It didn't stay on the ground but for a good hour, we could see snow flakes dancing all around! It made me excited for the colder season, snow shoeing and Christmas time by the fire place. I'm also very inspired to wear colder tones these days and am a bit obsessed with this little winter cape, which is now listed in store. I love finding new ways to stay warm and this little cape certainly does the trick!

Hope you had a great week-end everyone, ours was crazy hectic so today I'll be playing catch up!

On The Movie Front ★

Documenting the post production of our feature film has been a challenge, only because most of it happens in front of a computer and that does not make the best photo op!

But today I realized that this time last year, our appartement was a battle field, as we were preparing for it to be a huge part of our set. We were living (eating, sleeping, working, lounging) in one tiny room that I had tried to make comfy with lots of fairy lights. We hadn't had a week-end off in like... 2 years. We weren't nervous but WAY excited, soon we would be on set, creating the story we had taken said 2 years to write and prepare. It was one of the most magical yet chaotic time of our lives.

On year later, we are traveling to Montréal to go spend a few days in studio to put the finishing touches to the sound design and sound mastering (I'll try to document and share!). Most of our work conversations these days are about posters, trailers and festivals. And about how I am itching to be back on set while Ramiro can't wait to start writing the next screenplay (we have the story already!).

For me it's a nostalgic time as well. Because shooting the movie was the absolute best part of 2012 for me. A year that has proven challenging with my disease and that has tested my will to continue being a producer at times. But it will always be the year I made my first feature film, hence realizing my biggest career goal, with people that I will forever consider as a close part of my family... And you know I will always think of CLYDECYNIC as my first baby.

I'm both glad and sad that the end of the producing process is in sight, but SO excited that soon people will actually get to see the movie! Plus I kind of like having some week-ends off and think soon it will be time for an actual flesh and blood baby...

Stay tuned!

Anniversary ★

Last Friday was the 6th anniversary of Ramiro and I's first date. See how big I'm smiling? That's how Ramiro makes me feel. I was going to write a post about how we went to the Ottawa Museum of Modern Arts on our first date and how by the time he asked me what my favorite war genre movie was I knew he was the One (Apocalypse Now by the way, for both of us). But I am learning to live in the moment right now and so I want to focus on today and how today, he makes my heart skip a beat. He is the best partner I could have ever dreamed of spending my life with. Through and through. My total soulmate.

And so the least I could do to show him how special he is to me was to dress up in his very favorite vintage dress. Because he's crazy about this dress. And I'm crazy about him. Mon chéri.

Here's to many many more years of love and little vintage dresses...

Life Lately // Late Fall ★

Mitten weather
Eating waffles with my Sophie (most delicious food I've had all week!)
Spending some time in the country
Small dog fever (Ramiro and I are thinking about maybe getting a pet...)
The darker tones of nature, before it all becomes white
Wes Anderson mania in the Bélanger household
Santa's official arrival in town (and the darkness at 4h30 pm...)
And lots of time spent with my favorite person.

A few of the things that are making this cold rainy november month kind of wonderful in it's  own way...

Hope your week-end was awesome!

On Our Day Off ★

I am spending the week-end in the country with my husband, taking life easy, wearing pretty shawls and enjoying nature to the fullest. What are you up to on your day off?

I hope it's lots of fun!

Life Lately ★

Riding my bike in the crunching leaves
Simple take out dates with my beau (his and hers)
Finding pretty new vintage goodies for the shop
Lots of wind but sunshine too, or how Sandy toned down a lot before it got to my city
Being thought sewing again by my friend Elisabeth, after years of not sewing at all
Spending time marveling at the grandeur of nature and learning to relax
Thrifting cool items to modify and decorate our loft with
Sleepy Hollow, everywhere I look
And feeling more and more peaceful inside.

A few of the things that made the last week pretty darn good. It's the little things that build happiness for sure!
