With the Cannes Film Festival currently taking place I've been thinking of all the films that were first introduced at the mythical festival. Such films like this one (the opening film in 2012), this one (the Palme d'Or in 1966) and this one (in Un Certain Regard in 2010) too. Some of these films changed the way we look at the world. Some made us view filmmaking in a new light. And some inspired the greatest artist of our times. Such as this film, Band of Outsiders, one of Tarantino's favorites and an icon of the French New Wave. It's one of my favorites, something about the simplicity of it and the total creative freedom of it's form. A must see for all future filmmakers and cinephiles alike. Happy Screening! Virginie XO
