Sparkly Camera Strap DIY ♥

Girls nowadays like to bring their camera everywhere with them! So much so that it has become my most recurrent accessory. It isn't always easy to make it fit with my outfits and I've noticed the strap isn't the most glamourous visually, I'm sure we all agree on that! I found a way to make it into a pretty and fun accessory, glittery, shiny and sparkly (oh my!). Here's how it goes!
You need: one camera strap.
A variety of glitters to your taste of shape, color and width. I chose clear hearts.
And a tube of glue. Try out your desired pattern on the strap before gluing every piece one by one with a flexible fabric friendly glue. Start with the bigger glitters and then fill in with smaller ones. Use a little wood stick to apply glue for more precision.
Let dry and : tah-dah!
Attach to your camera. And start snapping away!
You'll be sure to get lots of compliments! Doesn't it look like a jewel now? Would be fab for fancier events and complement even the nicest outfits!

Have a sparkly day everyone!

  3. Such a great idea. I've been a little paranoid lugging my camera around places because I'm afraid I'll become 'that camera girl'. But now I can be 'that camera girl... with an awesome strap' :)

  6. This is such a wonderful idea!! ...although technically the camera belongs to Jack, so I doubt he'd enjoy me glitzing it up.

  7. Good point Sorren!

I share this camera with Ramiro so I bought a different strap (used, but like new, for 5$) and just switch it over, take 2 seconds!

  17. Brilliant! The only problem is I often get my hubby to take my pictures...not sure he'd be too happy about a blinged out camera strap..haha

  23. I currently use a Canon 7D. I got a second hand strap at the photography store for 5$ to glitterize, so that I would still have the original! And since I use an Sony Cybershot too sometimes, I just switch the strap, takes 5 seconds!
